Coach is a leading American designer and maker of luxury lifestyle handbags and accessories. Using a range of quality fabrics and materials, Coach’s product offerings include handbags, wallets, business cases, travel bags, footwear. Computec was appointed by Coach Japan as Senior Project Manager and Technology Turnkey Solution provider in preparation for their relocation to Roppongi Hills in Tokyo Japan.

Computec worked with Coach Japan’s technology teams in Tokyo and New York to provide a total turnkey technology relocation solution. Our Senior Consultants worked with the appointed Mechanical Engineers and building management engineering teams to design a state of the art-center datacenter on-site. It was necessary to make sure that shop technology group had their own data center area that meets their strict requirements for their key business group. As Computec was providing a complete technology turnkey solution, Computec was responsible for all technology aspects of the project including Project Management and design, providing structured cabling, network design and implementation, move support and management, actual setup and testing, Audio-visual design and implementation, plus managing some of Coach’s other technology partners and much more.

Computec in conjunction with Coach Japan’s technology managers and key business units, created a highly detailed and carefully formulated round-the-clock move schedule that took into effect a high degree of risk management to insure that every system had a backup, all manufacturer’s on-site warranties and replacements were up to date and that all venders were on call to be on-site quickly if needed. All systems were carefully managed so that no moving truck would contain the main and backup systems to ensure that there was no single point of failure. The critical path deliverable was to ensure that the main systems would be up quickly and that business data and transactions were not to be delayed for a single moment as a result of the relocation project.

Through precise planning and execution with Coach Japan’s senior IT management teams, the entire project was successfully completed on schedule with all systems up and running with no delay of business data or transactions and all users systems were running perfectly on the first day of business in their new location.
